Duc des Nauves Vin de France Rouge

$29.99

Duc des Nauves is produced by the Amoreau family. These are the same folks who grow Château Le Puy. While Le Puy’s historic parcels sit at 110 meters above sea level on an astéries-limestone plateau, their vineyards for Duc des Nauves lie just below at around 80 meters on the exact same fossil-rich, limestone soils. Different altitude yet identical geological DNA.

Duc de Nauves is farmed biodynamically with the same care as the estate’s flagship wines. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Amoreau chooses to leave the wine alone as much as possible. The juice is both fermented and aged in cement tanks. The 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is unfined and unfiltered in order to preserve the drink’s purity and texture.

Duc des Nauves carries the unmistakable imprint of place through its freshness, mineral tension, and quiet structure. It is just expressed in a fun, immediate, approachable style. Unlike its more age-worthy relative, this is built for pleasure now. No cellaring strategy required, just pop the cork and guzzle.
