Zócalo Wine Co. – Return & Refund Policy

Overview

At Zócalo Wine Co., we want you to enjoy your wine purchases. Because we are licensed in Texas under the Texas Alcoholic Beverage commission (TABC), our return policy must follow state law. That means we can only accept returns in specific situations (damage, spoilage, or incorrect product). We cannot legally accept returns of alcohol simply because of preference or over-purchasing.

When Returns or Refunds Are Allowed

Damaged in Transit or Pickup

  • If your wine arrives broken, leaking, or visibly damaged, please notify us within 7 days of delivery or pickup.

  • Provide your order number and clear photos of the damage.

  • We will replace the bottle(s) or issue a refund if replacement is not possible.

Flawed Wine (Corked or Spoiled)

  • Wine that is corked or otherwise spoiled (oxidation, contamination, or other fault not due to improper storage after purchase) may be eligible for return.

  • Notify us within 30 days of purchase.

  • Please keep the original bottle (with most of the wine still inside) so we can evaluate it.

Wrong Product Delivered

  • If you receive the wrong wine in error, we will gladly exchange it for the correct one at no cost to you.

Situations Where Returns Are Not Allowed

  • Texas law does not permit us to take back alcohol because you:

    • Don’t like the taste

    • Ordered too much

    • Changed your mind

  • All Final Sale, closeout, or allocated/rare wines are not returnable unless damaged or flawed.

Refunds & Exchanges

  • If approved, refunds will be made using the original payment method.

  • If the exact replacement wine is unavailable, we may offer a substitution of equal value or store credit.

  • Shipping costs are refundable only if the return is due to our error (damaged or incorrect wine).

How to Start a Return

  1. Contact us at support@zocalowine.com or call (512) 363-2699 within the allowed timeframe.

  2. Provide your order number, description of the issue, and photos if applicable.

  3. We will arrange pickup, return shipping, or in-person exchange depending on the situation.

Legal Notice

This policy complies with TABC regulations. We reserve the right to refuse returns or refunds if the request does not meet TABC guidelines or if the wine shows signs of improper storage or tampering after purchase.
